Description

Light & Shade gives a rare chance to hear Haydn sonatas on his favourite instrument, the clavichord, in music contemporary with the 1784 original of the Dolmetsch Chickering instrument. ‘A trio of sonatas by Haydn revel in the clavichord’s elegant chiaroscuro tones and penchant for the dramatic. Hollick plays with quiet but obvious altogether engaging relish for the instrument’s distinctive voice’ Choir & Organ review January 2021.
